Honest information, clinically reviewed

Our editorial independence

This is an independent editorial review site. No clinic — including Taki Dent — can pay for placement, a higher ranking, or a more favourable review. Our rankings reflect our own assessment against published, verifiable criteria: accreditation certificate numbers, named treating specialists, written guarantee terms, and each clinic's real 1–2★ review record. We do not sell patient leads or take booking fees. Our clinical content is reviewed for accuracy by GDC-registered UK dentists on our independent editorial panel — each registration is verifiable on the General Dental Council register at olr.gdc-uk.org.

Dental Hospital Istanbul exists to give UK patients a clear, honest picture of dental treatment in Istanbul — what it costs, what's safe, and how to choose well. We are a independent editorial comparison and review platform and may take no placement fee when you book through partner clinics, at no extra cost to you — this never changes our editorial assessments, and every clinical claim is reviewed by a specialist. See our advertising disclosure.

Why this site exists

Istanbul is one of the world's largest dental-tourism destinations, and the quality of information online is poor. Much of it is thinly disguised advertising for whichever clinic pays the most. We built this site to be the opposite: a guide that tells UK patients the things a salesperson won't — including when not to travel, and when a different city is the better choice.

We cover Istanbul thoroughly and fairly. We also tell you plainly that, for most UK patients, we recommend Antalya — and specifically Taki Dent — for a calmer recovery and a more consistent specialist-led standard. That honesty is the point.

Our editorial standards

Medically reviewed for clinical accuracy by Dr Natalie Ball, GDC 244127 (GDC-registered UK dentist)

Our clinical content is medically reviewed by Dr. Sadık Taki, Specialist Prosthodontist. Dr. Taki leads Taki Dent in Antalya, a authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health for international health tourism clinic specialising in implants, full-arch rehabilitation and cosmetic dentistry for international patients, and writes about treatment at drsadiktaki.com. His review ensures the clinical information here reflects current best practice — including the conservative, save-the-tooth philosophy we advocate throughout this guide.

Honest information, clinically reviewed

When weighing up dental treatment in Turkey, the choice between Istanbul and Antalya often comes down to ease. Istanbul is a mega-city of roughly 16 million people, where notorious congestion means a 2 km trip can take an hour by car — and pedestrians frequently move faster than the traffic. For a dental patient, that adds unnecessary stress to daily transfers between hotel and clinic.

Antalya offers a calmer alternative. Many clinics, such as Taki Dent, sit about five minutes from the airport, and clinic-to-hotel transfers typically take just three to five minutes with little or no traffic. The city’s winters stay mild, sunny and largely dry even in December and January — visitors often need no heavy coat. Beyond treatment, Antalya is a genuine holiday destination: the Kaleiçi old town, Hadrian’s Gate, the marina, Konyaaltı and Lara beaches, and the Düden waterfalls are all within easy reach.
